What Is Certify Copilot AI?

Certify Copilot AI is a desktop overlay application that acts as an AI tutor during your certification exam practice sessions. Instead of switching between your practice exam and a chatbot, Certify Copilot AI sits on top of any application on your screen and explains questions with a keyboard shortcut: no copy-pasting, no tab-switching.

It currently supports Windows (Mac version coming soon) and works with any practice exam platform: Udemy, PMI's official practice tests, Whizlabs, TutorialsDojo, MeasureUp, PrepCast, or any browser-based or desktop exam simulator.

Step 1: Download and Install

Download the latest Windows installer from the Certify Copilot AI homepage. Run the .exe installer: it takes under a minute. No admin rights required for typical installations.

When you first launch the app, you'll see the overlay panel appear at the edge of your screen. It's designed to be unobtrusive: you control when it activates.

Step 2: Create Your Free Account

Click "Sign In" in the overlay and create a free account. You'll receive 10 credits immediately, no credit card required. Each credit equals one AI explanation. This is enough to test the tool on a real practice session and experience how it works before committing to a paid plan.

Step 3: Open Your Practice Exam

Open your certification practice exam platform of choice: Udemy, PMI learning portal, Whizlabs, TutorialsDojo for AWS, MeasureUp for Azure, Scaled Agile's practice test, or any other. Navigate to a practice question.

You don't need to configure anything for your specific platform. Certify Copilot AI works at the screen level, so it can read questions from any app or browser.

Step 4: Capture a Question (Ctrl+H)

When you encounter a question you want explained, or one you got wrong and want to understand, press Ctrl+H.

This takes a screenshot of your current screen and sends it to the AI for processing. You don't need to select or highlight text: the AI reads the full question from the image.

Step 5: Generate an Explanation (Ctrl+Enter)

After capturing, press Ctrl+Enter to generate the AI explanation. Within 2-3 seconds, Certify Copilot AI displays:

  • Which answer is correct and why
  • Why each incorrect option is wrong (the key to not repeating mistakes)
  • Which framework principle, concept, or knowledge area applies
  • A mental model for similar questions in the future

The explanation appears in the overlay panel: you can read it while the practice exam is still visible on the rest of your screen.

Other Keyboard Shortcuts

  • Ctrl+B: Hide or show the overlay panel
  • Ctrl+G: Reset the conversation context (start fresh for a new question)
  • Ctrl+arrow keys: Move the overlay panel to a different edge of your screen
  • Alt+F4: Quit the application

Best Practices for Maximum Learning

  • Answer first, then explain. Attempt the question yourself before pressing Ctrl+Enter. Passive reading of explanations builds less retention than active prediction + correction.
  • Focus on wrong answers. Don't use Certify Copilot on questions you got right. Focus your credits on the answers you got wrong or felt uncertain about.
  • Use Ctrl+G between questions. Resetting context keeps explanations focused on the current question rather than being influenced by prior captures.
  • Review at end of session. After each 30-minute practice session, review the explanations you received and note the patterns in your mistakes.

Stop guessing. Start understanding.

Certify Copilot AI explains any certification practice question in real-time, directly on your screen. Try it free with 10 credits, no card required.
